Local and Area Farm Families Presented with Hoosier Homestead Awards

Several local and area farm families were presented with Hoosier Homestead Awards Friday in recognition of their commitment to Indiana agriculture.

59 farming families were honored.

Indiana farms may qualify for three honors: Centennial Award for 100 years of ownership, Sesquicentennial Award for 150 years of ownership and the Bicentennial Award for 200 years of ownership.

The Ferguson Farm in Daviess County (1852) was presented with Centennial and Sesquicentennial Awards.

Also in Daviess County, the Flinn (1893) and Kavanaugh (1894) Farms were presented with Centennial Awards.

In Dubois County, the Feldmeyer – Holtzman Farm (1848) was presented with a Sesquicentennial Award.

The Spindler Farm in Gibson County (1924) received a Centennial Award.

The Marchino Farm in Knox County (1865) received a
Sesquicentennial Award.

And in Pike County, the Whitehead Farm (1869) received Centennial and Sesquicentennial Awards.
